Scramble, scramble...

Oh, hello blog, long time no see. I have been neglectful in updating over the past few months. I have been busy in film production, and the final stretch is just beginning, so I guess I'll take some time to post old progress from the end of December-January.

A couple finished scenes: (future tweeks may vary)

Completed version

Sc. 27 Completed as well.

And some colour concepts I developed over the Christmas break:

And I guess here's a few of the lesser awful drawings from my final life drawing class. Despite that, I shall miss it.

Current Development Art

Finally, we come to the present. The following is the 'final' leica version (final being a loose term), and selected pieces from my ongoing design pack. Enjoy!

I'll be attempting to keep more frequent updated over this last bit of pre-production. Also, perhaps more actual drawings? Maybe so!

Early Concept Work

It's been quite a busy first quarter this year. I have not kept up with my film progress so far, so I might as well bombard you with it now. My story, as mentioned two posts before, has changed since last year. This first bit is largely early development art from September, and even now much of the actually ideas have been scrapped (rightly so, since it made for a long, complex story).

These are the initial pitch designs:

The following are the second passes at character and location designs to adhere to the developing story:

This is the first pass at the leica, it's without sound so it plays out pretty boring. The story at the present stage is pretty much nothing like this pass, but since I did have a full nights work in it, it's worth checking out for comparison.

Next post will have more current artwork, and the updated leica.

3rd Year Film: Part 1 - Design & Workbook

Now we get to the group film. It's been agreed that all individual work belongs to the individual, so there are not copyright issues. If credit is due, then credit I will give.

So first is some of the later design work and the workbook. Not much to say about any of it. Merely the last bit of preperation we had before the production began.

Final additions to the Design Pack. Based on a rough sketch by Kyle Mowat.

Plane Interior Colour Mock-Up

Design and all colours are by me. Character clean-up work provided by Kyle Mowat and Caroline Hung.

My contribution to the workbook

'Bout Time

I've been completely absorbed into ongoing school projects as of late, particularly that of the group film. Most of the other work I have been doing involve rigging the chef model from the previous post and developing my fourth year film (I have a pretty solid idea that I intend to develop fully). However, none of that has anything I can (or should) show, so I guess for now I'll share some of the work I have been contributing to our group film. All of the following is work I did, and therefore is permitted to be shown here.

And finally, without giving too much away about our story, a sequence of boards I did:

In related news, I got my internship placement this past week. This summer I will be working for Smiley Guys Studios in Toronto. I'm pretty excited to finally dip my hand into the industry!

Almost mid-term, I'll be back with more soon.
